This year is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. In order to strengthen students' patriotism education and set up students' great ambition of ‘Reading for the Rise of China’, on the afternoon of April 8th, with the theme of ‘One Hundred Years of Glorious History, Building a moderately Prosperous Society in all Aspects’, Anqing Foreign Language School held a speech contest in the Senior High Department in the lecture hall, which was organized by the Chinese group of the Senior High Department.
At the beginning of the semester, the Chinese group of the Senior High Department conducted a primary selection of the speech manuscripts of the students from the 10th and 11th grades, and 33 contestants were selected to participate in the competition, during which the contestants were graceful and well-behaved. They told stories about the century-old history of the motherland with vivid stories and tried to showcase their youth in the pursuit of realizing the Chinese Dream. In addition, the competitiors clearly expressed their understanding and feelings about the theme of ‘One Hundred Years of Glorious History, Building a moderately Prosperous Society in an all-round Way’.
On the whole, the judges of this speech contest held the principle of fairness, justice and openness, and selected five first prize winners, ten second prize winners and seventeen third prize winners on the spot.
